Jim Nite, Pastor
Jim is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM) and Gordon-Conwell Seminary (DMin). Jim enjoyed studying the languages of the Bible, majoring in Old Testament and Hebrew, while also emphasizing New Testament Greek. Jim's passion is explaining the Bible--especially to those who may have only limited exposure to its message, and showing the Bible's timeless relevance to everyday life. Jim is married to Sue (who serves as the Director of Christian Education). He has three sons: Micah and Noah who are both married, and Don (who joined the family at the age of 10). Jim enjoys long walks, travel, and any time with his family.
Derek Newbery, Associate Pastor
Derek is a graduate of California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM). He is responsible for Connection Groups, our small groups ministry. Derek grew up in San Diego, California as a pastor’s kid. He has a heart for seeing people understand the depth of God’s love for them and the fullness of life God promises to all of his followers. Derek enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Courtney, and their children, Zeke, Mercy, Mya and Chloe. Derek's favorite sports teams, including those he played for, have never won a championship; he says he can relate to anyone still waiting to win the big game.
Tom Powidzki, Director of Youth Ministries
Tom completed his master's degree in counseling from Biblical Seminary in Hatfield, PA. His undergraduate training in Bible and pastoral ministries is from Philadelphia Biblical University. Tom oversees Student Ministries, which encompasses the middle and high school programs of the church. Tom has more than two decades of experience in full-time youth ministry--and remains committed to vibrant student ministry and following after the Savior. Tom and his wife, Sharon, have four children: Jenna (who is married), Kyle, Rachael, and Tara. Tom was a three-time high school All-American in water polo. Really.
Sue Nite, Director of Christian Education
Sue has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Bible and pursued graduate studies at Texas Woman's University. She has been the Director of Christian Education for nearly two decades. and has taught in both public and private schools. Sue oversees our children's programs (Sunday School, Children's Chapel, AWANA, and VBS). She loves working with children and teaching Bible stories (she is a great story teller). Sue enjoys hosting dinners at her home, any time she can spend with her sons (and daughters-in-law!), and browsing through secondhand shops.
