We’re new to town and after visiting several churches in the area it was our children that decided that this was the last stop. The Sunday school teachers, the choir, the AWANA program, we’ve just been so blessed and my children love it so this is our last stop and we’re ready to become members because of the children’s program.

My relationships at youth group are so much deeper and stronger than, like, people at school. It will be so much easier to invite my friends from school when we have this
building. I mean, who isn’t impressed with a racquetball court? You say to your friend, Hey, come to my youth group and you can play racquetball with me.

We find the most effective way to build relationships with teenagers is to be doing an activity with them, and they don’t realize it, but they start talking and opening up. So we’re creating a lot of activity space with our youth center to create these social dynamics where students can come and play ping pong or pool or a game called wallyball which will be played in the racquetball court. It just makes a person feel welcome when they get involved and active.
