About Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a ministry named after Stephen, the first to be commissioned by the apostles to care for the needs of the early church. It is a one-on-one, private ministry by trained, caring, and commissioned laity of the church. It is a distinctively Christian ministry relationship, focusing on the unique needs of each person for in-depth care. Stephen Ministry is a worldwide ministry of more than 10,000 congregations. Stephen Ministers provide care during many difficult life issues including: hospitalization, illness, unemployment, financial crisis, life transitions, marital separation or divorce, depression, death of a loved one, stress, new to our community, and struggling with faith in God.

A Stephen Minister provides a trained, committed, confidential caring ministry of weekly visitation and listening; resources and referrals where needed; prayer with and for you; and Christian love, support, and friendship though the valleys of life. A Stephen Minister is not a professional counselor, social worker, psychologist, housekeeper, expert in law or finance, or a brief, superficial visitor.

Stephen Ministers abide by their covenant to keep their caring relationships in the strictest of confidence.

Stephen Ministers serve not only our Center Point Community Church congregation but also the Naples community as well.
